Autumn Farmer’s Market Salad

Here is a salad I put together last week. Every ingredient is from the farmer’s market:

  • panisse lettuce
  • baby red leaf lettuce
  • fresh cranberry beans (purchased directly at a farm)
  • hand-shelled walnuts
  • and my sweet pickled grapes (which had been marinating for a few days.

I mixed it all together to get the vinegar from the grape pickles all over everything.

So delicious.

When I eat this way, every meal is unique and different and wonderful in it’s own way.

This was the first salad I made when I could stand again after I broke my kneecap.

It really is autumn-in-a-bowl. It’s the food available right here, right now.
